Dragway FAQ

Have a question you would like us to answer? Please e-mail our PR department.

Q: How can I get pit passes?

A: All ticket holders at the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals have pit access at Bristol Dragway.

Q: I need accessible parking. Do I need a parking pass?

A: Fans needing accessible parking are required to have a State issued placard / tags or a BD issued parking permit. Spectators with accessible parking permits enter the South entrance located on Hwy. 11E. Please have your placard and identification available for inspection upon entering the facility. Remember our accessible areas are on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early to obtain a parking place. If you are not able to obtain a handicap parking place there will be special assistance provided by Golf Cars throughout the Dragway grounds. For more information contact Becky Fulwider at (423) 989-6931.

Q: What is the closest airport?

A: Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) is approximately 15 minutes from Bristol Dragway and located almost in the middle of the Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City area. There are at least three carriers that serve TRI: Delta, US Airways and Northwest. Several flights come in during the day from Atlanta, Cincinnati, Memphis, Orlando and Charlotte.

The Knoxville, TN airport (TYS) is about 2 hours or 2:15 away (interstate the entire way) and is a bigger airport that provides a few more options as well as Roanoke, VA (ROA) (2:30 just North on Interstate 81) and Asheville, N.C. (AVL) (1 hour and 20 minutes).

Q: How do I get a hotel room?

A: Bristol Dragway suggests you use the Hotel Hotline, available through the Speedway's website or check out our lodging page for other alternatives.
