When racers heard an episode of PINKS ALL OUT would be filmed in Thunder Valley July 20-21, the phone lines at Bristol Dragway lit up like a Christmas tree.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise that it took only 10 days for the field to be set with more than 300 competitors. Drivers from 17 states and one racer from Canada will make the trip to compete in legendary Thunder Valley.
On Saturday, July 21, the 350-car field will make two qualifying runs in front of Rich Christensen and his crew from PINKS. Information from the first round of qualifying will be shown on the track's scoring lights. Times from the second round will only be seen on the timing system computer located in the control tower. The PINKS team will compare times to determine which 16 drivers will make the final bracket.
The group of 16 cars, all having similar performance numbers, will compete for the $10,000 grand prize. During the event, drivers will be given money for each round win. Before each race, the drivers will have the option to put any amount of money they have won to that point on the line.
While the competitor field is full, there still are tickets available for fans who want to take part in the filming of the exciting PINKS ALL OUT, where emotions can run high- and at times, low. Spectator tickets may be purchased online through TicketMaster and are only $20. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.
A Test and Tune on Friday, July 20 will give registered drivers the opportunity to make sure their cars are performing at their best. Spectators can see the action for $10, with children 12 and under free. If fans want to see both days of racing, they can purchase a two-day combo ticket for only $25.
Camping will be available during the PINKS ALL OUT weekend. On Thursday, July 19 at 5 p.m., gates at the Dragway entrance will open for those interested in camping. Bristol Dragway has 99 premium spots available for $200 each. Premium spots are 16' x 75' and include water, sewer, and electric hook-ups. There are also non-hookup camping spots (16' x 40') available for $100 each. Racers will be allowed to camp free in the pit area (non-hookup). For camping reservations, please contact Annie Lavinder at 423.989.6944.
