Charlotte Observer - "Bristol Best Place To Watch A Race"
The Charlotte Observer named Bristol Motor Speedway "The Best Place To Watch A Race" in May, 2006
"There are a total of 22 tracks on the Nextel Cup circuit and Bristol Motor Speedway is THE place to watch a race, as the Charlotte Observer has ranked BMS as the No. 1 facility for must-see NASCAR racing.
The Observer ranked the tracks from No. 1 to No. 22 in the order it would tell a fan he or she should see an event at that particular facility. According to the article, written by motorsports editor David Poole, "More than any other track on the Nextel Cup circuit, races here are a 'happening.'
"Because the racing quarters are so tight, it is inevitable cars are going to get in each other's way. And that sets off the fireworks." The article goes on to say, "When it's time to start a race at the .533-mile oval sitting on a mountainside in Tennessee, my goodness. It is easily the most electric atmosphere in the sport."
