Q: How do I get tickets to the Sharpie 500 August night race?
A: The Sharpie 500 holds the distinction of "the toughest ticket in NASCAR," and it is one of the toughest tickets in all of sports. Ticket holders who have tickets for the Sharpie 500 may renew their seats each year, and they do, leaving no single-event tickets available. However, almost each fall, our ticket office has a limited number of season packages available, providing fans a chance to obtain tickets to NASCAR's most popular race. In coming weeks. please visit our Tickets Page to see the resale date and to get information on how to purchase non-renewed season tickets.
Q: How can I get on your ticket waiting list?
A: We're sorry, but we no longer keep a waiting list. We've tried in the past, but by the time tickets are available, many people on the waiting list have changed addresses, phone numbers, area codes, marital status, etc. At the end of the year, after our current ticket holders decide whether to renew their seats for the next year, we offer non-renewed seats on a specific "re-sale" date. Q: How can I get pit passes? A: Only licensed competitors and officials, safety workers and accredited media may obtain pit passes at Bristol Motor Speedway. All ticket holders at the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals have pit access at Bristol Dragway.
Q: I need accessible parking. Do I need a parking pass?
A: Fans needing accessible parking are required to have a State issued placard / tags or a BMS issued parking permit. If your seats are located on the frontstretch side of the track, enter the Dragway entrance located on St. Rt. 394. If your seats are located on the backstretch of the track, enter the South entrance located on Hwy. 11E. Please have your placard and identification available for inspection upon entering these entrances. Remember our accessible areas are on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early to obtain a parking place. If you are not able to obtain a handicap parking place there will be special assistance provided by the Nationwide Fan Assistance Patrol Golf Cars throughout the speedway grounds.
Q: What is the closest airport?
A: Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Blountville, Tenn. It's about 20 minutes from BMS.
Q: How do I get a hotel room?
A: Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway suggest you use the Hotel Hotline, available through the Speedway's website or check out our lodging page for other alternatives.
Q: How do I get a camping space in the Speedway's campground?
A: At this time, we do not have any new camping spaces availabe on Speedway property. Most of our neighbors have camping available, and a complete list of these campgrounds is available on the Camping page.
Q: Can I bring a cooler into the race? A: Yes, provided it is no larger than 14 inches at its longest dimension. No glass containers of any kind are permitted. Coolers are not permitted on elevators to the suite level. Q: Can I shoot home video? A: Yes, provided it is for your private home use only. Copyright restrictions for both NASCAR and NHRA are in place at both Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway, but private home use of your own video is permitted. Please remember that you are allowed only one carry-in item in addition to a 14-inch cooler. Q: How do I get driver autographs? A: The best way to get NASCAR driver autographs is at Food City Family Race Nights. See www.foodcity.com for a complete list of race nights and the drivers participating. NHRA drivers typically sign autographs in the pits between rounds in their pit areas. Q: Can I bring a backpack into the Speedway or Dragway? A: Yes, but remember it must be a size that fits under your grandstand seat, and it will be searched before you are permitted to bring it through the gates. Q: Bristol Motor Speedway has how many seats? A: 160,000 Q: What did it cost to build Bristol Motor Speedway? A: The Speedway originally cost $600,000, including the price of the land and construction in 1960. Bruton Smith's Speedway Motorsports, Inc., purchased the Speedway in 1996 for $26 million, and since then the company spent more than $130 million on capital improvements.
