HIT STATE STREET FOR FOOD CITY RACE NIGHT
It's NASCAR's biggest and best single-day pre-race celebration. It's Food City Race Night on State Street in Downtown Bristol, TN/VA.
Driver appearances, live entertainment, interactive displays, food and more make this a must for fans during August Race Week. Open from 1 - 9 PM, this annual event has become a tradition for the Bristol family.
TRANSPORTER PARADE & WATCH THE HAULERS PARK
It's a tradition! At a minimum, watch the Ford Transporter Parade on Thursday night (9 PM). Haulers leave Bristol Mall at 9 PM and make a 10-mile trek down Hwy. 11E (Volunteer Parkway) en route to "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." Seeing these multi-million dollar machines roll down Volunteer Parkway is a sight to behold.
Insider tip: To add a different twist to the parade, come sit inside the Speedway to watch the haulers park. Gate 10 will be open for fans as they watch the transporters roll into The Last Great Colosseum, and masterfully park in the tight BMS infield.
DON'T MISS PRE-RACE
Sure you might be having fun in the campground, but Bristol's pre-race is a can't-miss! From the patriotic tributes to the one-of-a-kind driver introductions, the IRWIN Tools Night Race ceremonies are legendary. Join Hank Williams Jr. and all of Bristol's rowdy friends for all the festivities. Be in your seat by 5:30 PM for an experience you'll never forget.

Historically, fans come to Bristol early in August. So while you're here, check out the wonderful offerings of the northeast Tennessee/southwest Virginia region. Be it a visit to the Great Smoky Mountains, or a day on South Holston Lake, the area is packed with fun things to do.
GET TO THE TRACK EARLY
Make it a full day at the track! While IRWIN Tools Night Race action doesn't begin until the evening hours, make the most of your day. Visit the souvenir vendors, check out all of the interactive displays, see drivers and live entertainment at Guest Welcome Village. Arrive by noon to get the full Bristol experience.

Ask the veterans... Bristol staff loves interacting with event guests. Make sure you hit our Guest Welcome Village (located at the Orange Bridge between the Speedway and Dragway). Driver appearances, live music, information booth, concessions and an overall great time awaits you there.
