Bristol Motor Speedway is an amazing place to work; not because of what it is, but because of people: the guests, the employees and the racers. Bristol IS the experience.  

My name is Patrick Savage and this is my first blog post as an employee of Bristol Motor Speedway. I just passed my one-year anniversary of employment this week. I am sure you can guess how exciting... hectic and blessed that year was, but there is more to it.

I’ve always loved this sport. As a kid my local hero was Bill Elliott. My home of Calhoun, Georgia is just two counties over from Dawsonville. I met Bill Elliott earlier this month, and I have a new appreciation for the experience of our guests.

We are fortunate here to meet a lot of today’s best drivers and a few celebrities. Meeting Bill Elliot - in that moment - was different. I felt like a 6 year-old-boy again. Standing there looking at a legend of the sport he felt like a giant to me. Memories of sitting around the TV with my father on our farm cheering for Elliott came flooding back.  I was completely awe-struck.

More-than-likely you’ve heard the phrase “Exceed Expectations” used a lot. Most of us wear it on our wrist as a reminder. Those constant words signifying everything we do for you, the fan. At times, it also encourages us to dig deep and push trough to get every thing done before race time.
