While I’m not a poetry aficionado, every now and then, a line from a classic rings true.  Case in point, Robert Burns in his 1786 effort To A Mouse, wrote “The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry.” Which in good ol’ boy terms, like I’m used to, means “Plan all you want bubba, but somethin’ can always (and often does) go wrong.”

So anyway… last Friday afternoon I penned my blog for this week. It was nice. It was neat. It was concise. It included the efforts of the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities and our upcoming holiday events, which begin this week.

Not to sell those events short, but…

Thanks to the Clint and Jeff throw down, Kez lettin’ it rip in the media center, NASCAR not throwing the caution, Harvick’s leaked plans to join the Smoke stables… well, let’s just say the aforementioned blog is laying beside my desk in File 13.

So in the words of Dragnet’s Joe Friday (yes, it's debated whether or not he ever said them), I’ve cut the hub-bub, shortened the blog, dropped in a bunch of links and I’m giving you “Just the facts.”

Simply amazing how a couple of days changes the headlines.

On a serious note, we do hope you get the opportunity to join us for our holiday events here at Bristol Motor Speedway. Not only will you enjoy the splendor of Speedway In Lights, the thrill of riding down Chill Hill and the ice skating fun; you will be contributing to a worthy cause as proceeds from all events benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

God Bless and have a great week!
