There's no off season in Bristol

Tuesday, October 18, 2011
The 15th season of Speedway In Lights opens on Nov. 18.

Hello Bristol Fans,

I trust you are doing well and enjoying the autumn season. Here in northeast Tennessee the mountains are absolutely beautiful in all their brilliant colors.

We’ve wrapped up all of our 2011 racing action at the Speedway and across the creek at Bristol Dragway. It has been a great year of racing here in Thunder Valley and on behalf our entire Bristol team, I’d like to say thanks to all you fans for your support and making Bristol the special place that it is.

Now while you might think we go into hibernation this time of year, nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, we’re rapidly approaching one of our favorite times of the year… the holiday season at BMS.

Just after the August race weekend, our team started getting the lights and displays ready for our 15th season of AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered By TVA, which opens on November 18. The four-mile drive throughout Speedway and Dragway property is something to see… And yes, you even get to drive on the track.

The Johnson Controls Ice Skating Rink is up and ready to welcome skaters of all ages. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned skating veteran, it’s a load of fun to lace up the skates and hit the ice.

And of course you cannot forget the HVAC Chill Hill Tube Slide. It’s a 300-ft ride on a snowless slope that is sure to put a smile on your face. The Ice Rink and Chill Hill open on November 17.

And speaking of smiles, what makes all of these events so special is the fact that the proceeds generated by our holiday activities go to the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

So as you enjoy our seasonal fun here at BMS, please know you are putting smiles on the faces of thousands of children throughout the northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia region.

We hope you can join us for the fun. As always feel free to send me an e-mail or give me a call 423.989.6947. I always look forward to hearing from our fans.
