To celebrate 20 extraordinary years of track ownership by new NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Bruton Smith, Bristol Motor Speedway awarded 20 pairs of tickets to the Food City 500.
"This promotion definitely fits the world's best, larger than life promoter," said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager, for Bristol Motor Speedway. "Bruton has done so much to make Bristol Motor Speedway the mammoth powerhouse it is today and we think this is the perfect way to salute his work."
Smith, executive chairman of Speedway Motorsports, purchased Bristol Motor Speedway on Jan. 22, 1996 from Larry Carrier for a purchase price of $26 million. With his vision, Bristol has grown into one of the largest and most renowned sports venues in the world.
