When it comes to Bristol, fans complete the experience
I’ll readily admit that as an employee of Bristol Motor Speedway that my favorite time of the year truly is our August Race Week. And, I’ll also readily admit my least favorite time of the year is the week that follows.
Or to be even more honest, my least favorite week is any week that follows one of our major events. Why you might ask?
Well, for lack of a better way to put it… The circus leaves town and the fans go home.
It’s a lot like that birthday party you had when you were a kid. Everyone comes over, you have a blast, mom decorates the house… Next thing ya know, everyone’s gone and in spite of all the hoopla and some gifts, you still feel sad because it’s over.
It’s quiet here at Bristol this week, too quiet. We miss the circus and the fans. And while I’m being honest, I personally always hate the paperwork that follows a race week, but hey, that’s another story.
On to the point of this week’s blog…
Thanks Bristol fans! We had an awesome time last week and while there are a lot of spokes in the wheel of staging a NASCAR event week, you are the most important.
For those of you that attended, we hope you had a wonderful experience. For those of you that didn’t get to make it, we hope you can join us in 2012.
I’m sure we’ll see some of you at some of our season ending events like Super Chevy Show, Thunder Valley Mayhem, the Xtreme Sprint Car Speed Classic and of course, Speedway in Lights.
Again, we thank you for being a Bristol fan. You are the best. Period.
