Racing and race fans special at Bristol
By PAM HICKS - Fort Recovery, Ohio
How can you beat a weekend with 150,000 plus of your closest friends and family? That’s what Bristol is all about. Yes, we certainly come to see the racing, but Bristol is just so much more than that.
In addition to the on-track competition, the relationships forged among fans from all over permeates the experience. And the hospitality in northeast Tennessee is second-to-none.
Fans visit Bristol literally from all over the world and they come in large numbers. What other sporting event has that many spectators at one event? Super Bowl - 70, 000; Major League Baseball game - 45,000; or a National Basketball Association game - 21,000. No other sport entices this many people to come together, share their passion and get up and close with their favorite driver, car, team and the future stars of tomorrow.
Racers and race fans are a unique group of people who share everything from their friendship, companionship and passion to their homes, food and drinks. We have met so many wonderful people during our ventures to the greatest track in NASCAR.
Maybe we'll meet you at the Food City 500!
