NEW - Adjust Font Size:

Drivers will put their skills to the test when the world’s greatest footbrake race, the World Footbrake Challenge, races into Thunder Valley for the inaugural July 27-29 event.

The World Footbrake Challenge is a 1/8-mile event that will see racers from across the country attempt to take home the top prize. The reward will be worth the effort, as Saturday’s winner will take home the top prize of $50,000. Winners on Friday and Sunday will pocket $10,000 each.

Originally scheduled for April 13-15, Dragway officials changed the race date due to a resurfacing project in Thunder Valley.

In footbrake competition, drivers are not allowed to use electronic equipment to help them achieve a perfect start. For a complete list of rules, please visit www.worldfootbrakechallenge.com.

Gates open at 8 a.m. and spectator admission is only $12 each day.

For more information about the World Footbrake Challenge, please call 205.612.3502 or 662.837.8166.
