After witnessing the response to last year's simulated PINKS event at Bristol Dragway, Rich Christensen decided Thunder Valley would be the perfect place to film an episode of PINKS ALL OUT.
Christensen and his team will come to Bristol July 20-21 and give area drivers and spectators the opportunity to participate in one of SPEED Channel's most popular shows.
The ALL OUT format is different from that of a normal episode. The initial field will consist of 350 cars. Drivers will make qualifying runs to determine the performance of their machines. After qualifying is complete, the PINKS crew narrows the field to the 16 drivers they want to see compete for the money. The winner will take home $10,000, while eight other racers will leave Thunder Valley with $1,000 in their pocket.
Unlike a normal episode of PINKS, PINKS ALL OUT will allow drivers to race as hard as they can without the fear of losing their car. However, before each race begins, drivers will have the option to bet any amount of the prize money they have won to that point.
PINKS ALL OUT is an open competition for any car that can run the quarter-mile in 12.99 seconds or less. The cars must be "Door Cars" that adhere to the NHRA rulebook.
Spectator admission is only $20 for Saturday's PINKS ALL OUT, and fans will be able to catch the action of Friday's Test and Tune for only $10. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. Spectator tickets may be purchased online through Ticketmaster.
Racers must pre-register for the event. Pre-registration will begin on Friday, May 11 at 1 p.m. and will occur on the Ticketmaster website. Pre-registrations for previous PINKS ALL OUT events have closed within hours due to the number of racers that want to take part in the show. A link on the Bristol Dragway home page will guide participants and spectators to the correct website.
Drivers will have two registration options. The first option is the $25 Test and Tune package, which gives racers a chance to practice in Friday's Test and Tune, free entry into Saturday's race, plus a free PINKS ALL OUT T-shirt. Drivers also may choose the Saturday only package. This package only provides free entry into Saturday's event. A Ticketmaster fee will apply to both packages.
With only two qualifying runs to impress PINKS officials, drivers may want to take advantage of the Test and Tune session to ensure their cars are performing at their fullest.
