The NASCAR Foundation And Speedway Children's Charities Bristol Chapter Give Fans The Chance To Walk The Track In August
NEW - Adjust Font Size:

On August 22 NASCAR fans will file through the gates at Bristol Motor Speedway to see the Sharpie 500, NASCAR's most popular race. Earlier in the day, however, fans will get the chance to enter through a different gate that leads directly onto the World's Fastest Half-Mile for The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk.

The Track Walk, scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m., gives fans the unique opportunity to walk a lap on the actual racing surface just hours before the race. Registration for the event is $30 online before August 19 or $35 at the track. Children 14 and under may walk for free with a registered adult. The registration booth will be located in the fan zone area near the dragway bridge. All registrants will receive a commemorative event t-shirt. Fundraisers who collect $500 or more in donations will receive a VIP tour at the track on Saturday, August 22.

The Walk will raise funds for Speedway Children's Charities Bristol Chapter and The NASCAR Foundation. Bristol Speedway Children's Charities was founded in 1996 to help fund care for children's educational, financial, social and medical needs in order to help them lead productive lives. The Bristol chapter has distributed over $4.5 million dollars to the community since its inception. The NASCAR Foundation embodies the compassion of the NASCAR Family and its commitment to serving communities. The Foundation supports a wide range of charitable initiatives that reflect the core values of the entire NASCAR Family. The NASCAR Foundation uses the strength of the sport and its people to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
