The "Ride Of A Lifetime" Auction presented by Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN offers race fans a unique opportunity to ride with their favorite Nextel Cup driver during Sharpie 500 Driver Introductions.

Twice a year fans get the opportunity to take a lap around Bristol Motor Speedway, along with their favorite NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver, in front of nearly 160,000 fans. The August edition of the "Ride of a Lifetime" online auction gives 15 lucky spectators that chance for their moment in the spotlight just prior to the Sharpie 500.

Bristol Motor Speedway's web site (http://www.bristolmotorspeedway.com/) will host an online auction where fans may bid for a ride with one of 15 NASCAR superstars during driver introductions for the sold-out Sharpie 500 on Saturday, Aug. 25. Winning bidders will then ride in the bed of a Chevrolet pickup truck with their driver and make a lap around "The World's Fastest Half-Mile."

In addition to the ride of a lifetime, winning bidders will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets to the Sharpie 500.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Bristol chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Drivers participating in the auction are: Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex, Jr., Elliott Sadler, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte and Kasey Kahne.

The online auction goes live at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3. Bidding will continue through Friday, Aug. 17. Anyone bidding in the online auction must be at least 18 years of age. Only ONE person will be allowed to ride in the truck with the driver.

The winning bidder may elect to give up his or her ride to a family member or friend. This will be permitted with the stipulation that the person is at least 12 years of age.

Fans wishing to participate but lack Internet access, may do so by mailing in bids to: Bristol Motor Speedway, "Ride of a Lifetime" Auction, Attn. Barbara Kaiser, P.O. Box 3966, Bristol, Tenn., 37625.
