A fireworks display will take place that evening, putting a cap on another extremely successful season of the holiday light show at Bristol Motor Speedway. The fireworks extravaganza will begin at approximately 9:30 that evening.
"This is just our way of putting an exclamation mark on a very big year for Speedway In Lights and we're also saying a great big thank you to everybody who has supported us this year," said Claudia Byrd, chair of the Bristol chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, which has raised nearly $4 million over the past decade for children's agencies in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. "It's been another great year for Speedway In Lights and that's because people in this region have been so supportive.
"We wouldn't be able to help the number of children we do if it weren't for all the wonderful people who have come out to support this event. Obviously, the more money we raise the more kids we can help and that really is what it's all about."
Tickets for Speedway In Lights are available at the gate. Ticket prices for cars are $10 Sunday through Thursday, and $12 Friday and Saturday. Activity van tickets are $15 each night and bus tickets are $65 each night through Jan. 5.
