BMS To Celebrate Independence Day With Plenty Of Racin' & Fireworks
NEW - Adjust Font Size:

Bristol Motor Speedway's popular Saturday Spectacular returns to action July 5 with plenty of racing action at the World's Fastest Half-Mile, as well as a fireworks finale to celebrate our nation's birthday.

The night will feature the Thompson Metal 150 UARA-STARS Late Model race, a 20-lap Pro Challenge event and a Charger Series 25-lap race.  The final race of the evening, the trailer race, will see cars speeding around the high banks of Bristol with trailers in tow.

In addition to the racing action, Bristol Motor Speedway will team up with Celebrate Bristol's Independence Day event for an incredible fireworks show. The fireworks will explode high over "The World's Fastest Half-Mile" to synchronized music by WQUT-FM 101.5, Tri-Cities Classic Rock.

The Charger Division makes its second appearance at Bristol in a 25-lap feature utilizing retired NASCAR Cup and Nationwide Series cars, Hooters Pro Cup cars and late model cars, only now they compete with a little less power and a spec engine.

Pro Challenge cars will compete in a 30-lap feature, and a trailer race will provide entertainment for all ages... remember, it's another "last-car running with all of its parts" test for these heavy-metal cars, and the most important part is the boat or camper attached to the car.

Fireworks will be launched high over Bristol Motor Speedway to bring the evening to a close.

General admission tickets are available for $15 for adults. Children 12 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult. A pit pass also is available for $35. No one under the age of 15 will be admitted into the pits.

Gates open July 5 at 6 p.m. with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.
