After several caution periods and a late-race penalty for race leader Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick claimed the victory in an action-packed Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon

The win was Harvick's first Nationwide victory in a car owned by his own company, Kevin Harvick Inc. It was his fifth Nationwide win at the .533-mile oval, making him the all-time leading winner at BMS in that series.

"I tell you it feels really good to get our own car in Victory Lane," said the happy owner. "This is awesome to win in Bristol with all the participation that we've had this week from the drivers and fans."

"It's pretty special to see something rise from the dirt like that. It just started as a hobby for us."

Harvick's co-car owner, his wife Delana, echoed her husband's remarks while celebrating the win.

"It is very emotional," she explained. "He could have given up a long time ago. To be able to go to Victory Lane and see guys that have been with us forever was special."

"He [Kevin] knew it would take time, but it paid off today."

Carl Edwards drove the Scotts Ford to second place in his sponsor's race. The Missouri-native gave his sponsor great praise after his hard-fought effort.

"I can't thank Scotts enough for sponsoring this race," he said. "If you have a need for some grass seed, Scotts is the best."

Clint Bowyer finished third, followed by Matt Kenseth and rookie competitor, Justin Allgaier.

After a late race penalty for a loose tire rolling onto pit road while in the lead, Kyle Busch was able to race his way back to the sixth position. Busch was followed across the line by Steve Wallace, Scott Speed, Joey Logano and Jason Leffler.

The Scotts Turf Builder 300 was the opening act for an afternoon chock-full of racing at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series takes to the track at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow for the sold out Food City 500. The event is the 54th Sprint Cup Series sell-out at Bristol Motor Speedway.
