The most action-packed and popular week NASCAR offers its rabid fans is just around the next turn and as always, activities at Bristol Motor Speedway kick off with the Baker Construction Services 11th Annual Speedway Children's Charities Golf Tournament Monday, Aug. 17.
The annual golf tournament is one of the major fundraisers for the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding children's organizations in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. To date, the Bristol Chapter has raised more than $4.5 million over the last 12 years.
The tournament features a four-person captain's choice format and a shotgun start at noon Aug. 17. Lunch will be provided prior to the start of play at 11 a.m. by Stir Fry Café and dinner will be provided by Levy Restaurants.
Golfers will have the chance to win a Tag Heuer Tiger Woods watch, courtesy of Bowman Jewelers, $5,000, and a Scag Freedom Z Riding Mower, courtesy of Boones Creek Outdoor Power, should they make a hole-in-one.
Companies interested in sponsoring a hole can do so for $450. This includes the company's sign on the tee or hole, one player, cart and green fee (additional players are $75 each, up to three) and a goody bag, along with lunch, dinner and beverages.
Individuals who would like to participate in the tournament may sign up for $150. This includes one player with cart and green fees, as well as a goody bag, lunch, dinner and beverages.
