Members of the Tri-Cities Miata Club had a zoomin' good time at BMS in early June and the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities was the lucky beneficiary.

Each year, the TCMC hosts a special event that is the highlight of the year for every Miata owner. During the get-together, participants take part in an autocross competition, drive some of the area's best two-lane roads and take a few laps around the "World's Fastest Half-Mile."

For the last two years, the club has donated all proceeds to the Bristol Chapter of SCC. This season, TCMC presented a check in the amount of $6,400 to the charity, bringing their two year total to $11,455.

"We appreciate what we have been given and feel this is a good way to give back to those who are less fortunate than us," said Lorie Haggerty, Zoomin' in the Mountains Event Coordinator.
