BRISTOL, Tenn. (Friday, Oct. 30, 2009) - While the nearly two million lights and more than 200 dazzling displays are definitely eye-catching for visitors to Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA, for many, a highlight of the show is the Subway Christmas Village.

Once patrons take their lap around the World's Fastest Half-Mile, they can park and enjoy a myriad of activities in Subway Christmas Village, located in the infield at Bristol Motor Speedway. Included this year is a magnificent two-story carousel.

Around 35 feet in diameter, the brightly-lit attraction can accommodate up to 75 "riders" at one time.

The latest addition to Christmas Village gives visitors to Speedway In Lights, which opens Nov. 13, even more to experience during their time in the infield.

"It's very impressive and everybody enjoys a great carousel," said Claudia Byrd, director of Speedway Children's Charities. "Kids are absolutely going to love it - and I'm sure there will be quite a few adults who will want to take a few turns on it too.

"Christmas Village gives folks the chance to enjoy a little break during their drive through Speedway In Lights. They can roast marshmallows, visit with Santa and have lots of good food and hot chocolate. There are other rides too, and we'll also have several crafts vendors. It's always a neat stop and a great part of the whole experience."

Other rides are the Glass House, the Berry Ride, Renegade Boat, Majestic Scooter, train and a smaller merry-go-round.

Tickets for Speedway In Lights, open nightly 6-10 p.m., Nov. 13-Jan. 2, are available at the BMS gate. Ticket prices for cars are $10 Sunday through Thursday, and $12 Friday and Saturday. Activity van tickets are $15 each night and bus tickets are $65 each night.

Proceeds from Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, a non-profit foundation dedicated to distributing funds to qualified children's charities. Funds from the foundation directly aid children in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. In the past 12 years, Speedway Children's Charities has raised well in excess of $4.5 million for area agencies.
