The Johnson Controls Ice Rink at Bristol Motor Speedway will take on a decidedly different look Wednesday, Jan. 12 during UT Big Orange Night.

Ice skaters, who also support the Volunteers, can sport the school’s gear and receive a free skate rental that evening.

All skaters also can register that night to win tickets to the Feb. 2 men’s game against Alabama at Thompson-Boling Arena and the women’s Feb. 27 game against South Carolina. Both the men’s and women’s teams are nationally ranked. Winners do not have to be present to claim their prizes.

Other giveaways included t-shirts, hats, calendars, and schedules.

The Johnson Controls Ice Rink is open each night through Jan. 16.  Cost to skate is $5 and skate rental is $2.

Proceeds from the Johnson Controls Ice Rink benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, a non-profit foundation dedicated to distributing funds throughout the region to qualified children’s charities. Funds from the foundation directly aid children in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. To date, Speedway Children’s Charities has raised in excess of $6 million for area agencies.
