NASCAR’s next generation of mechanics will have a pair of watchful eyes on them when five-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson makes a stop in the Bristol Motor Speedway Kids Zone on Sunday, March 18 prior to the Food City 500.

Johnson appears in the Kids Zone at 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning for a special question- and-answer session with his youngest supporters. During the time, fans 15 and under receive a Lowe’s Build and Grow kit of Johnson’s #48 machine to construct.

Johnson’s appearance is not limited to just kids, however, as adults also can add the Q & A session to their ticket as well. Adults and kids both receive a Jimmie Johnson hat as part of the package. The cost to add the Jimmie Johnson Q & A experience is just $15 for both adults and children.

Bristol Motor Speedway’s Kids Zone is a free area for children 15 and under to enjoy the fun and excitement of BMS and NASCAR. Several entertaining activities take place throughout the weekend, including cornhole, a space walk, big wheel races, a pit stop challenge, carnival games, face painting and much more.

Local teen band “Daisi Rain” provides music in the Kids Zone Saturday and Sunday. Kids also will be able to register for the 2013 BMS Kids Club.

BMS Kids Zone will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
