Bristol Motor Speedway and Victory Weekend Ministries have joined forces to offer a unique week of Christian-themed entertainment, including concerts, driver testimonies, motivational speakers and exhibitions, during the upcoming NASCAR Race weekend.

The program begins Wednesday evening, Aug. 24 as WCQR and BMS present Sidewalk Prophets prior to the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 Truck Series event. The event is the perfect opportunity for church and youth groups seeking an alternative to the typical Wednesday night service.

Sidewalk Prophets, winners of the 2010 GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, will headline the evening, which also includes driver testimonies from Eric McClure of nearby Abingdon, Va., Sprint Cup Series regular Michael McDowell and Nationwide Series competitor Blake Koch. Fans may purchase a combo ticket for the Sidewalk Prophets concert and O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 for just $25, with $5 of the ticket price going to Christian ministries. A separate non-alcoholic seating section will be available for those who purchase the package.

On Friday, Aug. 26, Victory Weekend Ministries will host Press Play, whose debut album went to No. 2 on the Billboard Christian charts, along with featured speaker Ron Luce, Co-Founder of Teen Mania. Team Xtreme, a Christian Power Team that brings a strength demonstration with a life-changing message, and a Battle of the Bands competition also highlight the day.

The Gatlin Brothers, who have more than 40 years of hit songs and albums, take the stage on Saturday, Aug. 27 for an afternoon of Gospel music from their massive repertoire. While the brothers shifted their focus from touring to their 2,000 seat theatre in Myrtle Beach, they still make limited tour appearances throughout the year.

Joining the Gatlin Brothers that evening will be Koch, Bassmaster fishing demonstrations and John Sines, Jr., known for his Dale Earnhardt tribute single, “The Black #3.” Steve Wingfield, CEO of the Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association, will serve as the evening’s motivational speaker.

Victory Weekend Ministries closes the weekend with a worship service on Sunday morning for those still on property at BMS.

Weekend passes, which include tickets to the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200/UNOH Perfect Storm 150, Food City 250 and the IRWIN Tools Night Race, are $125 for children 12 and under, $150 for teens ages 13-17 and $160 for adults if purchased by August 9.
