After implementing multiple "fan friendly" and "added-value" programs in recent years for guests at Bristol Motor Speedway, officials announced Thursday they have taken another step by expanding the Food City-sponsored Nationwide race in August from 250 to 300 laps.

On a day highlighted by announcements of a five-year entitlement extension with Food City, relief for fans at the gas pumps and a ticket-program designed to thank friends and family, BMS General Manager Jerry Caldwell was pleased to cap the festivities with the notice of the lap increase.

"We continuously look for ways to pack more into the Bristol Experience," Caldwell said. "We have added concerts, premium experiences and even additional races to the weekend schedule. This takes what we believe is one of the most popular and competitive races on the Nationwide tour and gives the fans more bang for their buck. We have said for a long time we pack 20 pounds in a five-pound sack on a race week here in Bristol.

"Of course we could not have done this without the cooperation of NASCAR and we appreciate them working with us to add a couple of more pounds into the sack."

Weekend packages for the August 2014 event start at just $89 so call (855) 580-5525 or visit www.bristoltix.com and reserve your seat today.
