Race fans heading to Bristol Motor Speedway for the IRWIN Tools Night Race - or those still considering making the trip - have an exciting new option that pumps even more fun into a trip-of-a-lifetime.

Bristol Motor Speedway and the Wilderness at the Smokies waterpark resort in Sevierville, Tenn., have teamed up to make the Bristol Experience even more fun  but easier, as well, with no traffic worries.

A "Splash & Race Weekend" travel package has been coordinated by the two attractions to allow race fans a fun, affordable and hassle-free option to enjoy the Bristol race weekend.  The travel package includes overnight accommodations, Saturday, August 24 at the Wilderness at the Smokies resort (for up to four people) and two race tickets in Waltrip Section GG at Bristol Motor Speedway (Located in Turn 3 - Seating Chart).

And if negotiating race traffic is a hurdle that is handled as well with roundtrip transportation via motorcoach (tailgating, bathrooms etc.) from the Wilderness resort to Bristol Motor Speedway.

The Saturday package:  lodging, race tickets and transportation for two (2) people starts at just $460.

For fans who cannot get enough racing at BMS the amenities provided by the Wilderness resort, extra nights at the Wilderness resort for reduced rates, as well as tickets for Bristol's Wednesday, August 21 UNOH 200/TITAN Roof 150 Camping World Truck Series/Whelen Modified Series doubleheader or the Friday, August 23 Food City 250 Nationwide Series race may be added.

Additional nights come with special perks like free track tour passes at Bristol for Saturday Night, a round of golf at Wilderness, and area attractions tickets like the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge and the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg.  Saturday race tickets and bus transportation for that event may be added to the overall package as well.

"We now are in our third year of working with area and regional properties on lower rates and fewer minimum nights during their trips to the races at Bristol Motor Speedway," said BMS General Manager Jerry Caldwell. "But a lot of fans also are looking for not only a variety of price choices but entertainment options as well. Wilderness at the Smokies and the Smoky Mountain region give our fans just that.

"We are extremely excited about the partnership and hope our fans and Wilderness' loyal customers  enjoy this affordable and entertaining package. There is nothing like the IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol and this package provides an unbelievable combination.

Wilderness resort General Manager Steve Cruz said the package made sense for facilities providing first-class family entertainment.

"We know that when people plan a getaway, they want it to be easy, and for race lovers, this package offers a great option to bring the entire family here to Wilderness at the Smokies for a great price," Cruz said. "This offers options for couples and families who may want to do different things - everyone in the family can go to the race together, or some can go to the race and others may choose to stay and play in the resort's indoor and outdoor waterparks, then go shopping or enjoy our area's attractions.  It's a win-win way to make sure everyone in the family is doing what they like doing best, including a big win at the Bristol race!"
