Food City, Bristol Motor Speedway, 88.3 WCQR and 11 Connects, WJHL-TV have once again teamed up for the return of their annual food drive.

This year’s drive, entitled Tri-Cities Largest Food Drive will take place July 19th through August 20th and has been expanded to include participating Food City locations from Greeneville, TN to Abingdon, VA.  Area residents are encouraged to bring their non-perishable food items by participating locations and deposit them in the specially marked collection bins.  All of the items donated will benefit your local Second Harvest Food Bank.  Special collection sites will also be available race week (August 16th through August 21st) at Bristol Motor Speedway.

88.3 WCQR will be broadcasting live from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at a different Food City location each day August 2nd through August 6th to promote the event.  Participating sites will “race” to see who can collect the most non-perishable items.  Customers are encouraged to help their local Food City take the checkered flag by dropping off their non-perishable food items on their area’s specified collection date.  Listeners will also have a chance to stop in and win some great prices, including tickets to the Food City 250 and IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol.
