Race fans look for that special one-of-a-kind item to complete their souvenir collections. Bristol Motor Speedway makes that search much easier as the annual Racing Memorabilia Auction returns Aug. 19.

A number of race teams and drivers have donated items for auction, including sheet metal, autographed shirts, jackets and diecasts from drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne. Sheet metal from one of Danica Patrick’s Nationwide cars also will be up for bids.

The boxing gloves used by Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Elliott Sadler, Scott Speed, Clint Bowyer and Joey Logano during Food City Race Night’s Wii Boxing competition in March and autographed by each driver are up for bid.

A helmet signed by all the legends in March’s EZ Seed Showdown, including David Pearson, Cale Yarborough and Harry Gant, also is part of the auction, along with a Tim McGraw-autographed guitar.

The auction is held on the third floor of the Bruton Smith Building at BMS. A preview of the items up for auction begins at 5 p.m. with bidding on the NASCAR collectables starting at 6 p.m.

The Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, a non-profit organization, which benefits children’s agencies in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, has raised more than $5 million over the past 13 years.
