Random Act Of Kindness Night At BMS Provided Visitors To AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights Free Entry Friday
Visitors to AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday were presented with an early Christmas gift Friday evening.
On “Random Act of Kindness Night” at one of the country’s largest and most successful holiday light shows, all visitors were admitted free.
Jeff Byrd, the longtime general manager and president of Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway who passed away Oct. 17, embraced Random Acts of Kindness and was a great believer in offering a helping hand whenever possible. To honor him on what would have been his 61st birthday, a number of the Speedway’s partners joined together to make the evening possible.
“We certainly appreciate all of our wonderful friends who made this happen,” said BMS general manager Jerry Caldwell. “They all know how Jeff felt about giving back. He was always so overwhelmed by the amazing support of this community for every single event held at the Speedway and Dragway and in particular, Speedway In Lights.
“It is our hope that in the spirit of the holiday season – and in Jeff’s memory – that everybody who visited the show tonight will find their own way of paying it forward with their own Random Act of Kindness.”
“Random Act of Kindness Night” was made possible through the support of Ford, Wellmont, Baker Construction Services, Britten (Banners) Inc., Can Do Enterprises, Corporal Clean, Express Signs, First Tennessee Foundation, Food City, Foster Signs, Irwin Tools, IT Decisions, JANPAK and Universal Printing.
Proceeds from Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for children’s agencies in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The Bristol Chapter of SCC has raised in excess of $6 million since 1997.
