Paula and Detmar Exner left the IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway Aug. 25 with a prize any race fan would love to own – the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO pace car.

The Exner’s, of Spartanburg, S.C., were among three finalists who had registered throughout the year for the chance to win the BMS pace car. Ford opened the contest at Ford Fan Friday March 16 and fans were able to enter throughout the summer.

All three finalists were at pre-race Aug. 25 for the big giveaway but only the Exner’s had the key that started the Mustang, which paced the field at all BMS NASCAR events this year.

The 2013 Ford Taurus SHO, valued at more than $39,000, features a 3.5 L V6 EcoBoost engine with 365 Hp and a number of upgrades, including adaptive speed control, adaptive cruise control with collision mitigation, SYNC® with MyFord Touch®, voice-activated Navigation System and climate controlled leather seats and steering wheel.
