Before cars begin circuiting the over four mile holiday display at this year's Ford Speedway in Lights powered by TVA, runners receive a sneak peek during the annual SUBWAY® Speedway in Lights 5K Run/Walk presented by Fleet Feet Sports.

Runners and walkers of all ages can take part in the Nov. 10 event, held the Sunday prior to the opening of Speedway in Lights, one of the country's largest holiday light shows. The 3.1 mile course leads participants through over 150 dazzling displays made up of more than two million lights, concluding on the backstretch of the Last Great Colosseum.

The SIL 5k begins at 6 p.m., offering participants the perfect setting to get into the spirit of the season.

Adults wishing to enter the 5k Run/Walk can do so for $25 in advance of the event or $25 the day of the race. Children 12 and under may enter for $13.  Children aged three and under can participate at no cost and will not be timed.

Participants may register online now. Participants may also register the day of the event, buy anyone wishing to be timed must register by 4 p.m. Only pre-registered participants are guaranteed an event shirt. Friends and family members may make donations on the website in support of participants, which will benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

All participants receive a long-sleeve event t-shirt. The top three finishers among both male and female runners receive event medallions in the following categories: Top Overall, Top Masters, Top Grand Masters, as well as the top three in the following age groups: under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over.

The overall male and female winners receive two suite seats to the March and August race weekends in 2014 and a free pass to Speedway In Lights. Second place is two grandstand tickets to the IRWIN Tools Night Race, and the third-place runners receive two tickets to the Food City 500 event in March.
