Purpose: The Dale Earnhardt Jr. Scholarship was created by Bristol Motor Speedway to honor Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and his contributions to BMS, and is designed to provide recognition and support to a person in continuing education who has demonstrated interest and ability in the field of automotive technology, hospitality, and tourism, or communications and broadcasting.

Criteria: Eligible college and university students must be currently enrolled in classes at one of the following institutions: East Tennessee State University, Emory & Henry College, King University, Milligan University, Northeast State Community College, Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton, Tusculum University, University of Virginia’s College at Wise or the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) in Lima, Ohio.

Graduating seniors at the following high schools are also eligible: Abingdon High School; Chuckey-Doak High School; Cloudland High School; Daniel Boone High School; David Crockett High School; Dobyns-Bennett High School; Elizabethton High School; Greeneville High School; Hampton High School; Happy Valley High School; Holston High School; John S. Battle High School; North Greene High School; Patrick Henry High School; Tennessee High School; Science Hill High School; South Greene High School; Sullivan East High School; Virginia High School; West Greene High School or West Ridge High School.

Guidelines: Any enrolled college student or graduating high school senior pursuing a career in automotive technology, hospitality, and tourism or communication and broadcasting, exhibiting good character and standing with the institution, may apply. Interested students should complete an application demonstrating their interest and field of study. Applications may be filled out below.

Deadline: BMS will begin accepting applications from eligible students for the 2024 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Scholarship on Monday, April 15, 2024. Applications will be accepted from Monday, April 15 through Friday, June 14. All applications MUST be filled out by 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024. The winner(s) will be notified on or before Sept. 1, 2024.

Amount: A one-time $2,088 award will be paid directly to the winning student(s). The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, supplies, on-campus housing, or other education-related expenses. The 2024 winner(s) will be honored and recognized during the Bass Pro Shops Night Race weekend, Sept. 19-21 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
