Animal lovers need to circle Thursday, Dec. 15 on their calendars as the HVAC Chill Hill at Bristol Motor Speedway goes to the dogs that evening.

The Sullivan County Animal Shelter, along with Shell E the Shelter Dog, the organization’s mascot, give guests the opportunity to donate dog food, as well as adopt a dog, just in time for the holidays.

Any visitor who brings dog food to Chill Hill gets $2 off the price of a 50-minute session that evening, which normally costs $7. In addition, the shelter officials are working to locate permanent homes for a number of dogs currently housed in their facilities.

Shell E the Shelter Dog joins in the fun, sliding down Chill Hill along with the guests that night. Shell E also will be available for photos.

Anyone wishing to take part in the HVAC Chill Hill tube slide must be at least 44” tall to ride alone. Children also can ride with someone 16 or older if they are at least 36” tall for an additional $3 cost for the pair.

Both Chill Hill and the Johnson Controls Ice Rink are through Jan.15. For a complete listing of operating hours, please visit
