Bristol Motor Speedway recently garnered top honors once again as Bleacher Report named the World’s Fastest Half-Mile NASCAR’s premier venue from which to view a race.

Writer Jerry Bonkowski of the digital sports media network, which boasts a monthly audience of more than 14.2 million unique users, ranked the top 10 tracks for fans to watch a race with BMS landing the No. 1 ranking.

Of BMS, Bonkowski writes:

“If you have a bucket list—or even if you don't—and there is only one racetrack that you must visit in your life, Bristol Motor Speedway is the place. Take a bowl-shaped arena that may be equally conducive to host a football game, squeeze in 160,000 fans and then add 43 race cars bouncing off of each other on the so-called "World's Fastest Half-Mile," and you wind up with BMS.

For many fans, a trip to Bristol is like no other, a veritable pilgrimage to the Mecca of stock car racing. Sitting in the stands and watching cars jockey for position is a feast for the senses—the colorful sights, the almost-deafening sounds, the smell of burning rubber and the sweet taste of potential victory that can turn sour and be taken away in less than a split second.”

BMS, owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc., is one of five SMI tracks that landed in the top 10, including Texas Motor Speedway (No. 4), Last Vegas Motor Speedway (No. 8), New Hampshire Motor Speedway (No. 9) and Sonoma (No. 10).  Other tracks in the top 10 were Daytona International Speedway (No. 2), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (No. 3), Darlington Speedway (No. 5), Talladega Superspeedway (No. 6) and Phoenix International Raceway (No. 7).

BMS kicks off NASCAR’s short track season in 2013 with the Food City 500 March 17, followed by the IRWIN Tools Night Race Aug. 25. Tickets for both race weekends may be purchased now at or by calling toll free 1-888-415-4158.
