As the calendar turns to July, summer time has officially arrived. And with that in mind, it's a reminder that the epic Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol weekend is just a few months away.

The opener for the weekend will be the Honda Ridgeline Presents Bristol's Tailgate Party concert starring Kenny Chesney and special guests The Band Perry and Old Dominion on Friday, Sept. 9. The event brings two Tennessee locals and a Virginia band back to the region to perform what will be the largest ever concert in eastern Tennessee.

"There's been speculation from people wanting to buy tickets that the show has been sold out," said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. "While we are quickly approaching a sellout, there are still good seats available for our guests who are excited to see Chesney, The Band Perry and Old Dominion return home."

As expected, fanfare around the concert has been massive as locals and fans of both teams look forward to experiencing the three acts at The Last Great Colosseum. Ticket sales have been extremely strong for the show as the entire nation prepares to turn its eyes towards Bristol for the historic football weekend.

So as you get ready for the rest of the summer, don't be afraid to sing along to the words from Kenny Chesney's Summertime, "Perfect song on the radio. Sing along 'cause it's one we know. It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine, it's summertime. Sweet summertime" and remember that sweet summertime means September is only a short time away.

Guests can purchase tickets from the remaining price levels (starting at $39) by visiting or calling (855) 580-5525. For more information on the concert, visit Additional information on the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol is available at
