Malone and Ford have career days in week 9
Isaiah Ford has career day to push the Hokies past Boston College
Isaiah Ford had his best career game this past Saturday night against ACC rival Boston College. The sophomore wide receiver was able to more than just catch the ball. Ford completed a pass for 14 yards, his first of the season and the second of his career.
Along with the 14-yard completion, Ford had 3 receptions in the game. He now has a 22-game streak of catching at least two passes in every game of his career. With his 51 receiving yards Saturday, Ford became the leader in receiving yards for sophomores, pushing his total to 1,324 yards.
Capping off Ford's game was the 100th pass of his Tech career. He's now bested former Hokie Jarrett Boykin as the fastest player to reach that milestone.
Look for Ford to continue his hot streak in week 10 against ACC foe Georgia Tech.
Career best for Josh Malone pushes Vols pass Kentucky
Sophomore receiver Josh Malone put up career numbers Saturday against South Eastern Conference rival University of Kentucky. The Gallatin, Tenn. native has been very impressive with his time in Knoxville, hauling in a 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joshua Dobbs to complete the longest reception of his career and one of the longest receptions since 2011 for the Volunteers.
Numbers kept adding up Saturday night for Malone, as he completed four catches totaling 103 yards, marking his second new career high.
He'll look to continue his hot streak Saturday against the South Carolina Gamecocks
