Children of all ages enjoy visiting Speedway In Lights powered by TVA at Bristol Motor Speedway, just as they also love cartoon characters.

On Dec. 19-20, kids can experience both at Speedway in Lights as Spiderman, Doragirl and Spongeboy, will make appearances during the holiday show. The trio of costumed characters from Celebrate in Johnson City will be strolling around Christmas Village and near the ticket booths both evenings.

Also, on Dec. 20 Wallabies of Johnson City will be at Speedway In Lights to visit with guests, as well as give out goodies.

Tickets for Speedway In Lights, open nightly 6-10 p.m. through Jan. 7, are available at the BMS gate. Ticket prices for cars are $10 Sunday through Thursday, and $12 Friday and Saturday. Activity van tickets are $15 each night and bus tickets are $65 each night.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights throughout the Speedway In Light run, Santa’s Speedway Sleigh also will be in operation, taking as many as 30 passengers along the 4.5-mile route in a special tram designed to give them a unique, open-air experience.

The tram will stop for 30 minutes in the BMS infield to allow guests to enjoy the crafts, carnival rides and food vendors in Christmas Village.  Santa also stops in each night and is available for pictures. Each guest receives a coupon for a free bag of marshmallows to roast at the fire pits in Christmas Village. For their comfort, blankets also are available for patrons’ use for the duration of the ride.
