The Bristol chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) is revving up the race week fun for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Sept. 11-13, while they conduct several fundraising events around Bristol Motor Speedway to continue its important mission of assisting local children in need.
Some of SCC-Bristol's race week events include the popular Legacy Shop presented by State Water Heaters, Laps for Charity presented by Champion Tire and Wheel, the Charity Cornhole Tournament presented by The U.S. Army, the 50/50 Raffle presented by Ohio Logistics and the Red Bucket Brigade presented by Hardee’s Restaurants.
“We are so blessed to be able to host such a wide variety of fun events during the Bass Pro Shops Night Race and we continue to receive tremendous participation from our very generous race fans,” said Claudia Byrd, executive director of Speedway Children's Charities' Bristol chapter. “That week continues to be our largest fundraising opportunity of the year and we couldn’t help so many local children in need without this much needed support. We owe everyone who participates and donates much gratitude and a heartfelt thank you.”
Race fans can take on the challenge of navigating the high banks of the World’s Fastest Half-Mile during the popular Laps for Charity presented by Champion Tire and Wheel. The event will be held on the Speedway’s .533-mile all-concrete oval on Wednesday, Sept. 10, starting at 7 p.m. This fan-favorite event gives participants the opportunity to drive their personal vehicles on the iconic track where so much NASCAR history has been made. The donation for an eight-lap session is $75 per vehicle. Fans also have the option to take a ride in the sleek BMS Chevy Camaro Pace Car and enjoy eight laps in the front seat ($150 donation per person). All participants, including driver and passengers, must register online and print and complete the waiver and release form by midnight on Sept. 12. Participants must present their waiver and release form during check-in, which will close 30 minutes prior to the start time. If you have not arrived and checked in by 6:30 p.m., you will not be able to take laps. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate. Register online here.
Several fun events will happen each day of the race weekend, from Thursday, Sept. 11-Saturday, Sept. 13, including a Live Memorabilia Auctions at the Food City Fan Zone Stage on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. There will be many items available on the auction block, including diecast cars, autographed items, race car sheet metal, photos, VIP experiences and more. To shop for more one-of-a-kind memorabilia, including some items autographed by your favorite drivers, fans are encouraged to check out the SCC-Bristol Legacy Shop presented by State Water Heaters. The Legacy Shop is located at Gate 14 and will be open to guests on Saturday only from 4-8 p.m.
Fans can also test their skills and compete for cash and bragging rights in the 2025 Charity Cornhole Classic presented by The U.S. Army. Cost is only $50 per team. Qualifying tournaments will take place Friday, Sept. 12 with qualifiers scheduled for noon and 3 p.m., and also on Saturday, Sept. 13 at noon. The top eight teams from each qualifier automatically moves onto the Championship Tournament, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. Pre-Register online or onsite in the BMS Fan Zone.
The popular 50/50 Raffle presented by Ohio Logistics also returns to race weekend and will be available each day of the event. For just $10 a ticket, race fans could win up to $100,000 in the 50/50 Raffle presented by Ohio Logistics. Tickets are also sold in different quantities. You can get 5 tickets for $20; 25 tickets for $50 or 88 tickets for $100. Tickets can be purchased at the track or online by Tennessee residents only. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, Sept. 13 during the Bass Pro Shops Night Race and the winner will be announced on our website and social media channels. The winner does not have to be present to win.
During Friday’s Food City 300 and the Bass Pro Shops Night Race on Saturday, race fans are encouraged to donate their loose change during the Red Bucket Brigade presented by Hardee’s. Remember, every penny helps a child in need. During the early stages of each race, SCC volunteers will pass around the red buckets through the grandstands to take up a collection.
