Bristol Motor Speedway has a way of revealing a driver’s progress. On a track where every lap demands patience, precision and a willingness to race in traffic, Carson Hocevar’s Bristol history shows a young driver steadily turning raw speed into results.

The first flashes

Hocevar made his first Bristol start in the Truck Series in 2020, finishing 17th on the concrete. One year later, he led six laps and finished sixth, offering an early glimpse of his short-track potential.

Then came his closest Bristol victory to date. On the dirt in 2022, Hocevar led 55 laps and controlled nearly the entire final stage before Ben Rhodes made the winning move with four laps remaining. Hocevar finished second, but the performance established him as a driver to watch whenever NASCAR came to Thunder Valley.

A two-race statement in 2023

Hocevar returned to Bristol’s concrete in September 2023 and delivered twice in one weekend. He started second and finished fourth in the Truck Series race. Two nights later, he made his first Cup Series start at Bristol in Legacy Motor Club’s No. 42 Chevrolet and finished 11th.

For a driver still building Cup experience, coming within one position of a top 10 at The Last Great Colosseum was an impressive introduction.

Cup momentum arrives

His 2024 Bristol results, 27th in the spring and 18th in the fall, were part of the learning curve. By 2025, the speed was unmistakable. Hocevar ran in the top five for much of the spring race before a costly pit stop left him 11th. In the Night Race, he led 26 laps and finished seventh.

The breakthrough result

Hocevar carried that momentum into 2026. He finished 10th in the Food City 500, then started fifth, led 39 laps and earned a career-best Bristol finish of third in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race.

That result gave him three consecutive Cup top-10 finishes at Bristol. Through seven Cup starts on the concrete, he owns three top 10s and an average finish of 12.4.

Hocevar has not reached Bristol Victory Lane yet, but his history here already tells a compelling story: each visit has added experience, confidence and another reason for fans to watch the No. 77 when the green flag falls in Thunder Valley.
