The popular Street Fights program rumbles back to Bristol Dragway with an awesome new name, logo and format: Street Fights Saturday Night presented by 99.3 The X, which includes an all-new "Run What Ya Brung" eight-car grudge trophy race on special nights.

The new format, held on five select Saturdays (April 28, May 12, June 30, August 4 and September 8), encourages competitors to "Just Bring It" and showcases expanded programming including a new grudge race showdown, drifting events, audio competitions presented by Dashboard Audio, nightly contests and much more. As always, drag racing enthusiasts will be able to challenge the famed quarter-mile at the controls of their street legal hot rods. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 6 p.m. Admission for guests is $10 and racers can compete for $15 ($20 for trailered racers).

"We're ecstatic for the debut of the new Street Fights Saturday Night presented by 99.3 The X format," said Brandon Cross, senior director of event operations, Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway. "There's something bad to the bone about grudge racing under the lights on a Saturday night. Whether you're looking to race down the strip, take to the drifting course or show off your car and win an award, there's something for everyone with this new format."

The newest highlight for the series is the Street Car Showdown. Held on May 12, June 30 and September 8, the Street Car Showdown is a "race within a race" where eight street legal rides will qualify for a "Run What Ya Brung" grudge race. Three different categories can participate (Street Extreme, 8.50-seconds or slower, Street Bandit, 10.00-seconds or slower and Street Driver, 11.00-seconds or slower) with a total of 24 cars. The cost is $30 per car and driver with trophies going to the winners and runners-up. Any driver who does not make the field of eight will receive a voucher for a free Street Fights racer pass later in the year as well as being able to run the rest of the night. Rules for the Street Car Showdown can be found at http://www.bristoldragway.com/tickets/street-fights/.

The popular drifting exhibitions will expand to all five evenings through a continued partnership with East10Drift, East Tennessee's grassroots drift movement. Participants can register as an opportunity to practice, sharpen their skills or drift tandem with their fellow drivers. Also new for drivers is the ability to participate in a clinic with a personal instructor, giving drifters the opportunity to learn from a professional. Driver registration is $75 with clinic spots available for an additional $100. Those who are interested in riding along with the pros can do so for $15 per ride. Bristol Dragway is also working with NightShift Garage for the Summer Showcase presented by NightShift Garage. The showcase is an automotive gathering of cars from all across the region and is part competition and part celebration of enthusiasts and the machines they've built. The festival of speed and style will feature four classes: Imports, Domestics, Euros and Overall with awards handed out in each category. Each car show entrant will automatically be entered for a NightShift Garage steering wheel giveaway. The Summer Showcase is $10 to join and those interested can register at https://thenightshiftgarage.com/.

May 12 and June 30 will officially be Big Bob's Pizza Night while September 8 will be the second annual Boom 'N' Zoom event presented by Dashboard Audio.
