Today prior to the 22nd NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, track and NHRA officials along with the Women In Motorsports North America (WMNA), held an NHRA celebration of the growth of women in motorsports and the gentlemen who support them.

At Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a “Women in Motorsports” photo opp tradition began eight years ago and continues to grow today showcasing the great diversity in motorsports.
 
This weekend, for the first time in NHRA history, many of the amazing women, and the gentlemen who support them, gathered at the starting line of historic Bristol Dragway for a very special Women in Motorsports photo – NHRA edition.

The women featured in the photo included Cindy Sisson, executive director of Women in Motorsports North America, FOX Sport's Amanda Busick, Claudia Byrd, executive director for the BMS Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities Executive Director Claudia Byrd, Top Fuel champion Shirley Muldowney, NHRA Top Fuel champion Brittany Force, Pro Stock racer Camrie Caruso, as well as several notable female employees from NHRA, NHRA race teams and the drag racing industry, media members and staff from Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway. 

NHRA President Glen Cromwell and Bristol Motor Speedway President and General Manager Jerry Caldwell participated in the landmark photo.

The women were recognized during NHRA pre-race ceremonies and then several of the members participated in the Seal Master Track Walk.
