As the Bandit Big Rig Series thunders to its season finale at historic Bristol Motor Speedway, Saturday, October 12, one driver will be crowned season champion when the dust settles at the inaugural Bandit Bristol Battle.

Ricky "Rude" Proffitt, who is the two-time defending series champion and has won two races this season, currently holds a 13-point advantage over Mark "Wheel Man" Noble entering the season finale. Two additional drivers remain in the championship hunt with Allen "Turbo" Boles and Marshall "PigPen" Davis sitting 46 and 76 points back, respectively. A total of over 100 points will be up for grabs at the Bandit Bristol Battle.

"Last year's Bandit Big Rig Series was a thrill as fans in this area got to see these Iron Giants at speeds of over 100 mph for the first time," said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager at Bristol Motor Speedway. "Not only will these drivers be racing hard to claim a victory on the 'Holy Grail of Short Tracks', four drivers will be battling for the season championship title."

While fans will be on the edge of their seats for the race at the all-concrete, half-mile oval, there is even more entertainment in-store for spectators.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. as fans will be able to meet the drivers of the Bandit Big Rig Series on the backstretch from 1 to 3 p.m. The first 2,500 kids through the gates will receive a free Bandit Big Rig Series drawstring bag and coloring book.

Working truck drivers are also invited to feature their big rigs in the official Fan Series Truck Show for FREE in front of Gate 7 beginning at 9 a.m. Registrants will also receive two FREE tickets to the race. In addition, the winner of the truck show (chosen by the fan vote) will be able to drive their rig on the high banks of Bristol as the official pace truck of the evening feature race. Fans can also purchase an infield access pass during racing for $50 or exclusive premium seats for $100 (minors under the age of 14 are not permitted in the infield during racing).
